BVI Dreamin'

Winter is over here in the Pacific Northwest, at least for the next two weeks. We're off to find some sun. If I were a clever tax dodger, I'd ask my doctor for a prescription for the vitamin D he wants me to get more of.

That southern sun is good for the body and good for the winter-shrunken soul.

Think of it. Two weeks of sailing and snorkeling and kicking back in the islands, British Virgin Islands to be exact, where daytime temperatures will be 85 degrees and the water only 5 degrees cooler.

We've got a catamaran reserved from BVI Yacht Charters, a great organization. It's a Leopard, 45 feet long, 25 feet wide, with plenty of room for the four friendly couples who will share the trip.

There's a big galley and indoor seating area, even larger cockpit, and 4 private staterooms, each with its own head (3/4 bath for you landlubbers).

We'll sail a bit most days, and we'll hit all our favorite snorkeling spots on Norman Island, Peter Island, Jost van Dyke, Cooper Island, and Virgin Gorda. We'll hit some of the beach bars too.

Speaking of snorkeling, I've included some photos of a few of the other friends we'll spend time with on this trip.

See if you can match them to their names:

Goldentail Moray, Spotted Eagle Ray, Trumpetfish, Porcupinefish, and Green Turtle.

Too easy, huh?
